Dear Approving Readers,

How often do you criticize yourself? Be truthful because I know our human nature and our human mind. Oh, and I know myself.

We Criticize Ourselves Incessantly…

Because our stomach sags after childbirth.

Because the wrinkles and sunspots suddenly appear.

Because we neglected our self-care.

Because we sought love from another instead of giving it to ourselves.

Because we didn’t have time to watch the latest TV episode or finish that intriguing novel.

Because we correct our children on the same issues.

Because we hit the snooze button instead of waking up before the crack of dawn.

Because our finances are tight.

Because we didn’t make it to the gym.

Because we neglected our meditational or devotional practice.

Because our partner forgot our anniversary… again.

Because our children sassed us back in public.

Because we burnt the bread in the oven.

Because we didn’t call that friend back who needed our help.

Because we didn’t plan accordingly for retirement.

Because we flounder in our purpose.

But… What if your purpose is to APPROVE of yourself?

“You’ve been criticizing yourself for years and it hasn’t worked. Try approving of yourself and see what happens.” ~Louise Hay

What an earth-shattering idea. What a life-giving concept. What a joyful and loving experience. Amazing grace. Amazing peace. Amazing…

I use to think that to experience unconditional love, unconditional peace, and unconditional clarity was to not let the conditions dictate my reaction, my joy, my purity.

However, I discovered something different in my meditation this morning.

Our conditions are our perceptions. Our conditions are our perceptions. Our conditions are our perceptions. I repeat it because it’s a new thought. And faith, belief, truth comes through repetition. Repetition baby.

What Do You Want to See? (The bottom-line!)

We choose! We choose to see love or hate. We choose to experience clarity or confusion. We choose doubt or belief. We choose our perception! We do have control. We are powerful beyond measure.

Our perceptions create our reality. Our perceptions create our conditions. Our perceptions create our consistency, our constancy, our identity, our stability.

What do you choose?

What do you criticize yourself over?

What do you approve of yourself in?

What perceptions create your conditions?

What reality do you choose to create?

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people will not feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us; it is in everyone and as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” ~Marianne Willaimson

Put down you sword… of attack, of powerlessness, of a critical spirit.
Choose… a healing mindset, your power and strength, an approving spirit.

Remember, you are just getting started. I’m just getting started. People change. And the change begins with us. I’m changing, and it’s amazing. You are changing, and it’s amazing.

Shine On,
