ADRENAL FATIGUE

ADRENAL FATIGUE

Dear Readers… Hopefully Not Fatigued Readers,

Adrenal fatigue occurs when the adrenal glands function below their optimum level. It can be brought on by acute and chronic infections. Or it can be brought on by prolonged and intense stress. My adrenal fatigue culprit was stress. Basically, your adrenal glands cannot adequately meet the demands of stress.

Your adrenal glands mobilize your body’s responses to every type of stress through hormones. Your adrenals respond to physical stress (i.e. Hurricane Katrina and moving 17 times), emotional stress (i.e. fear, guilt, shame), and constant stress (i.e. marriage issues, financial issues). These hormones regulate heart rate, immune function, muscle tone, and energy production.

You feel tired and damn fatigued. And when you feel fatigued, you reach for the coffee, sugar, and other stimulants to make it through another day. It affects millions of people worldwide. Every system and organ in your body is highly affected by adrenal fatigue. Alterations in your body occur at the cellular and biochemical level to compensate for the decrease in adrenal hormones.

Needless to say, I searched high and low, long and hard for answers. The good thing is that the adrenals can be restored. Awesome news. So if you are going through stress, please know that it is temporary, and you will be back on your feet again. You will feel good again.

This year, I’m moving towards an energized body. Alignment in everything I do. And guess what? I need my adrenals to come along with me on this ride and function properly and adequately. I need to feel less stress and more ease.

I’ve been on this roller coaster of adrenal fatigue for 10 years, peaking the last three years. And out of all the things that I did and tried via this doctor, this homeopathic, this… What I learned is our bodies are highly sophisticated, intrinsically woven, and extremely sensitive. What works for someone may not work for you. It’s trial and error… where the rubber meets the road.

I discovered Activi-T Adrenal Support by Life Seasons (consists of Holy Basil, Rhodiola, Schizandra, Aswagandha) would be best for me. Now, I would not have selected this product. The name didn’t catch me. And the product bottle didn’t catch me. You know how sometimes you pick a bottle of red wine because of the name or bottle. We all do it. But this product was specifically selected for my needs, my body, my adrenals through muscle testing. Within two weeks, I noticed improvements. More energy. Less fatigued. Less headaches. Less naps. Hmm.

In addition, I went to a naturopathic doctor and got adrenal boost shots with B-12 and B-5. I just started this program in January and wanted to share my significant findings and wonderful improvements.

If you are fatigued, practice mindfulness, mediation, take a bath, laugh with a girlfriend, and try another supplement. Or you can venture like I did and get a shot of healthy vitamins.

Lucas offers, “It’s Wednesday. Happy hour. Time to get your shot.” Time to go to Bloom Natural Health – the naturopath’s shot bar. (Caveat: You got to love these kids. Their awareness has increased as my awareness has increased. Amen!)

Enjoy you weekend and be well!

Ex-Fatigued,
Jennifer
