Adrenal fatigue occurs when the adrenal glands function below their optimum level. It can be brought on by acute and chronic infections. Or it can be brought on by prolonged and intense stress. My adrenal fatigue culprit was stress. Basically, your adrenal glands cannot adequately meet the demands of stress.

Your adrenal glands mobilize your body’s responses to every type of stress through hormones. Your adrenals respond to physical stress (i.e. Hurricane Katrina and moving 17 times), emotional stress (i.e. fear, guilt, shame), and constant stress (i.e. marriage issues, financial issues). These hormones regulate heart rate, immune function, muscle tone, and energy production.

You feel tired and damn fatigued. And when you feel fatigued, you reach for the coffee, sugar, and other stimulants to make it through another day. It affects millions of people worldwide.
