Dear Creative Genius,

Are you practicing unforgiveness? Are you holding onto bitterness that diminished your sweetness? Have you set yourself free?

Forgiveness is an opportunity for growth. It is about letting go of resentment and bitterness. Forgiveness is a gift, a discipline, a daily practice when you are in relationships. You can’t get away from this topic if you want to have a rich and rewarding life. As Mother Teresa said, “If we really want to love, we must learn how to forgive.”

There are some things that may help you on the road to forgiveness.

Forgiveness is really for you. It releases you from the resentment and bitterness. It frees you and purifies your heart. There is a clean slate. You don’t have to mull over the issue. Forgiveness is not about the other person.

It can lead to feelings of empathy. When you understand that everyone is operating from their level of awareness, you can extend grace, understanding and acceptance. When you embrace compassion for yourself, you can extend it to another. When you forgive yourself, you can forgive another.

Forgiveness brings peace. It is not about making someone wrong or right in your mind. It is welcoming a peace of mind, which is so more important.

You take your power back by changing the story and no longer allowing the other to rent space in your head.

Choose wisely. You can forgive someone and not hang out with them anymore. It’s okay to choose wisely your circle of friends, your tribe, your soul family… your inner circle. In every situation, you have the power to choose. You have the power to make conscious choices.

I would love to hear from you. Do you practice forgiveness? If not, can you be honest with yourself today and choose a peace of mind? May you choose forgiveness and set yourself free!
